Full Research About Depression

Depression is one of the most common psychological, affecting nearly everyone either through personal experience or through depression in a family member. Each year, more than 17 million American adults experience a period of clinical depression. The cost of human suffering cannot be estimated. Depression can interfere with normal operation, and often causes problems with work, social adaptation and family. It causes pain and suffering not only to those who have a disorder, but also those who care about them. Major depression can destroy family life and the life of the depressed person.

Impact of depression:

Causes tremendous emotional pain

Affect the lives of millions of people

Affects the lives of families and friends

It reduces work productivity and absenteeism.

A significant negative impact on the economy, estimated to cost 44 billion dollars per year.

Depression and bipolar depression are presented separately on this site because of problems encountered with the bipolar disorder. Those interested in information about the bipolar disorder must also verify the information on depression, bipolar disorder usually includes depressive episodes as well. Bipolar disorder was once known as manic-depression. It is a type of depression, and characterized by the presence of mood swings, especially "manic high" that often lead to high risk, self-injurious behavior. Most people with a bipolar disorder have both depressive and hypomanic episodes.

Depression is a psychological condition that changes your thinking and feeling and also affects your social behavior and sense of well-being. We all felt sad at one time or another, but not depression. Sometimes we feel tired of working hard, or discouraged when faced with serious problems. This too, is not depression. These feelings usually pass within a few days or weeks, once we adapt to stress. However, if these feelings persist, intensify, and begin to interfere with work, school or family responsibilities, it may be depression.

Depression can affect anyone. Once identified, most people with depression are treated successfully. Unfortunately, depression is not always diagnosed, because many of the symptoms mimic physical illness, such as sleep and appetite disorders. Recognizing depression is the first step of their treatment.

Almost two thirds of depressed people not receiving appropriate treatment:

The symptoms are not recognized as depression.

Depressed people are seen as weak or lazy.

The social stigma causes people to avoid treatment.

The symptoms are disabling, so that those affected cannot reach for help.

Many symptoms are misdiagnosed as physical problems.

Individual symptoms are treated, rather than the underlying cause.

Clinical depression is a very common psychological problem, and most people do not seek appropriate treatment, or seek treatment but are misdiagnosed as physical illness. This is extremely unfortunate because, with proper treatment, nearly 80% of people with depression can significantly improve their mood and life adjustment.

Causes of Depression

You May heard about a chemical imbalance in the brain that produce themselves in the depression, which suggests that the depression is a disease, without psychological causes.  Nevertheless, all the psychological problems have certain physical demonstrations, and all the physical diseases have of the composing psychological.  Indeed, the chemical imbalances that produce themselves during the depression generally disappear when you fill the psychotherapy for the depression, without taking medicines to correct the imbalance.  That gives to think that the imbalance is the physical reaction of the body to the psychological depression, rather than the inverse one.

Certain types of depression seem well to work in the families, suggesting a biological vulnerability.  That seems to be the case with the bipolar depression and, to a least degree, the harsh major depression.  Studies on the families, in which ones the members of every generation to develop bipolar disturbances, noted that the persons suffering from bipolar disturbance have a gene pool not very different of those that are not diagnosed.

Nevertheless, the inverse one is not true.  Not with everyone of the genetic constitution that provokes this vulnerability to the bipolar disturbance develops the disease.  Of other factors, such as stress it and of other psychological factors, are implied in his apparition equally.  All the same, the major depression seems equally to produce itself, generation after generation, in certain families, but not with a frequency that clearly gives to understand the biological causes.  In addition, it produces himself equally with the persons that have not any family antecedents of depression.  Thus, while it May to be certain biological factors that contribute to the depression, this is clearly a psychological disturbance.

A variety of psychological factors seem to play a role in the vulnerability to these harsh forms of depression.  Very probably, the psychological factors are totally responsible others form light depression to moderated, in particular the depression revives.  Depression generally is diagnosed as an adaptation disturbance during the treatment.

That easily are submerged by the anxiety are more subject to the depression.  The psychologists describe often the social factors of apprenticeship as being important in the depression development, as well as of other psychological problems.  The people learn both progressive and misfit means to manage the anxiety and the response to the life problems in their environment more family, more educational, more social and work environments.  These environmental factors influence the psychological development, and the manner of which the people try to resolve the problems when they arise.  Social factors explain also why the apprenticeship of the psychological problems seem to produce themselves more often with the family members, of generation in generation.  If a child grows in a pessimistic environment, where despondency is constant and the encouragements are rare, that the child will develop a vulnerability to the depression.

A loss engraves, chronic disease, relational problems, stress to the work, family crisis, financial difficulties, or a change of inopportune life can release a depressive episode.  Very often, a combination of factors more biological, more psychological and more environmental are implied in the development of depressive disturbances, as well as of other psychological problems.  When you feel depressed, and you do not know to that to address itself, speak with someone that can help.... a psychologist.

In the second phase, the researchers made mice swim for 20 minutes, which is a factor in mice a lot of pressure, after 28 hours of the second phase, the researchers placed mice in the maze again. At this time the performance of mice exposed to great pressure better than mice that were in a relaxed state.

To see whether the hormone "Korticsteron" is the reason behind it, the scientists injected mice, part of the material and prevents the effect of this hormone, while the other group to give a saline solution, scientists and re-experience the second phase of the development of the two groups in the pool, and then placed in the maze.
